The Fallopian Tubes
***VIDEO***
The fallopian tubes can become damaged or blocked, and if they become scarred, this means that the egg and the sperm may not meet. If just a single fallopian tube is blocked, then pregnancy could still occur. But why does this happen? There are many reasons why the fallopian tubes may become blocked.
Previous pelvic surgery, previous infection, and the commons well-known infection that can affect the female pelvis is in fact chlamydia. But patients may also have damage from a very common condition called endometriosis. And all of these factors together can sometimes mean that the fallopian tubes do not function efficiently, and they cause pregnancy not to happen.
